In the last decade the people of Chechnya suffered two brutal wars in which over 100,000 people died.
The conflicts left the republic's capital, Grozny, in ruins and forced more than 350,000 people into neighbouring Ingushetia. Chechen refugees endured years of hardship in tent cities with only basic food and medication, and with little clean water.
In 2003 the authorities started closing down the tent camps and the refugees slowly returned to Chechnya where they were placed in Temporary Accommodation Centres (TACs).
Now the TACs are being closed down, and for many, there is nowhere to go.
