IR started work in North Sudan in 1988 and has been providing humanitarian and development assistance to vulnerable communities in Sudan.
In the past few years IR has implemented various development and relief activities in many places in Sudan, including Khartoum, Darfur, southern Sudan, the Blue Nile and the Nuba mountains. The North Sudan program covers vocational training for women and youth, a school for hearing impaired children, mother and child health, water and sanitation, support to orphan, primary and literacy education and emergency relief programs.
